Olde Brooklyn Lantern As Seen On TV

New York has been the epitome of success and one of the best cities for economic growth. Its development has come through the ages. Because of its vast industrialization, it has always been well-lit from centuries. Out of all the lights Brooklyn Lanterns have made it visible at night only one has kept alive its beauty while lighting it up. These lights were versatile and were not only used to light up the streets but also cars, trains and houses. All the sentiments attached to the classic Lantern have led to lots of cheap remakes of it. Now there is the latest lantern that mimics the lantern with perfection and of course without its flaws. It is widely known as the Olde Brooklyn Lantern.

Olde Brooklyn Lantern is a vintage lantern design that served a greater part of decades lighting up America but has a modern addition to it. The original lantern had open flame system to produce light through it but this newest lantern has a range of LED lights for the purpose of lighting. To be precise, the lantern accommodates 12 ultra bright LED light bulbs stacked to provide bright lighting throughout its core. The beauty of using these modern day LED lights is that they never burn out produces light for up to 100,000 hours. Another feature of these lights is that they are cool to touch which means it is safe to use them near children. It also boosts a dimmer which can reduce or increase the intensity of the bulbs according to the desired requirement.

Olde Brooklyn Lantern is a flawless replica of the original antique lantern unlike other cheap imitations available in the market. It has a solid genuine metal body and an authentic glass dome just like the original. It features a classic swing-up handle to carry the lantern around and a hanging ring to hang it from the roof. It also mimics the lift lever mechanism from the original lantern. It can look classic for a party on a patio, it can provide a new touch to the dining room, a magnificent light on the mantle and spice up the bedroom. It can even help when there is power outage since it can single-handedly light up an entire room unlike regular flashlights. 1. Review Olde Brooklyn Lantern

Is Olde Brooklyn Lantern really a replica of the original classic lantern?

Did it provide lighting sufficient for an entire room?

    Is it durable?

    Do you find it useful?

Do you think it’s a scam?

    • I like the looks of the lantern, but when I go to order the price is not the same as advertized on tv. On tv it’s two for $12.99but the price inflates to 1 for $12.99 and the second for only $10.00 and the be sure to ask for free shipping and handling does not exist or at least it is not offered to me.The price is still not too bad if it lasts as long as said, but after the deceit I’ve experienced I am afraid to try it.Shame.

  2. I spent over 30 minutes on the telephone placing an order. I was so confused, I have no idea how much my order will be. There is no one to talk to. The automatic service just adds on what ever it wants. Not truly honest when ordering. There is no confirmation it just places your order without seeing the charges up front. Also takes a long time to cancel order, and then you get a person that barely speaks English, and the cost is almost twice as much as advertised. Just beware!!!!

    • Just got off the phone after buying the Old Brooklyn Lantern also, and yes it took me 30 minutes and I have no idea of what the charge is. Hopefully I have enough in my account…..as I was going by 2/$12.95 plus shipping….before I knew it, I had “antique” look, and expediting shipping, which I kept saying NO to the recording but it wouldn’t accept my no of course. Oh, hope I really like these lanterns………….Just not how they sell them.

  3. TV junk rule #1…
IF IT ASKS FOR YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO UP FRONT, RUN… DON’T WALK AWAY FROM THE SCAMMERS. A word to the wise.

  4. If you have a hard time canceling the order, just call and do a charge back on your credit card. can’t get through on the phone, then order online (as long as it’s a secure site).

  5. I tried to place an order today, for the lanterns advertised on TV. Buy one Old Brooklyn Lantern for $12,99 and you get 2 for the price of one. I could not talk to a live person, and the recording kept saying the price was $12.99 for one and the 2nd. one would be $8.99 more. There was no live person to talk to and tell that I was ordering the deal they touted on TV. The recording kept repeating to enter my credit card number, for the one lantern. I got angry, and hung up without going any farther with the deal. I thought that by getting on this, their website, I could get an address and could write the Company, but that’s must not be possible. So, I’m passing up buying this Lantern.

  6. Glad I was able to read reviews before ordering. I can do without the lantern ! Don’t need the headache!

  7. Purchased what I thought was a good deal several weeks ago! Still nothing & no one to talk to, no where to write. Guess I have to dispute charges with my credit card company!

  8. Tried to order online from http://www.oldebrooklynlantern.com and http://www.oldebrooklynlanternTV.com. They asked for the credit card info before giving me shipping which is always a red flag. (I didn’t notice until too late that the credit card info page was not secure.) After answering questions, I thought I was buying 4 lamps for around $52 plus (still undisclosed) shipping. When I clicked on the Order button to see what the shipping would be, the next page said, “Thank you for your order” with a total of $102.90 – no confirmation page, no option to review/edit, just the order confirmation page. I immediately called my credit card company to block the charge. I refuse to do business with dishonest scum that hides and manipulates like they do. ~Bob

  9. I ordered on line for the Olde Brooklyn Lantern. However; after I did a print out on the order, it shows that I owe $65.94 I am NOT paying that for these lanterns. I have tried and tried to cancel the order on line but can’t find a place to cancel the order. PLUS, I read that if you don’t want the lanterns, you can send them back BUT you have to pay for the shipping and handling PLUS the cost of shipping and handling when they were sent. I REFUSE TO DO EITHER. Now I don’t know what to do. Any suggestions? Any one!!! Thanks

  10. Stay away and avoid like the plague. As is the case with ANY “As Seen On TV” crap it is exactly that, made in China crap. First I tried to order by phone and they wanted my CC number before they would talk to me. Huge red flag and I refused and ended the call. I then attempted to order online and was at least able to read about the thing before being asked for my card number. I went ahead and ordered it and as you may guess, I only got 1 and I was supposed to get two. Also took over 6 weeks to get this piece of crap. Made of cheap plastic and the first of many issues was the connecters for the batteries came loose and I had to use super glue to hold them in place. If you wiggle the light it flickers on and off because I believe the LED’s are not making a good connection. Spend 10$ more and get a good brand name lantern like a Coleman and stay away from this As Seen on TV garbage..

    • ANYTHING that is an item in the class of “Advertised on TV” ends up on the shelves of CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, etc. at the low low prices they originally advertised. Some are a deal, some are cheap, poorly constructed items priced too high, and many are really cool gadgets with a good price tag and worth a very short wait after first advertised on TV. Actually, I have been surprised after seeing a commercial for the first time and researching it on the internet that the item has been around for years or advertised in another part of the country. Next time I go shopping at CVS or Walgreens and no surprise, the items are already on the shelf.
FYI for all the folks out there…. next time you ooh and ahh over something advertised on TV, PLEASE control your impulses to pick up the phone. I promise, they will NOT run out of the item (like QVC countdowns… and they are a lie too, because you can order the same items online even after they “ran out”) (another scam, another thread to post about). Bottom line, check reviews online, DO not order it then either. Do yourselves a favor and go to some of the stores and see if they are in one of the “AS seen on TV” sections at the end of an isle. If you don’t see it, ask the manager and most likely they either have them on order or know when they will get them. I know this by personal experience. The most you might pay extra is a few bucks in gas and the small price to pay to learn impulse control. It’s a good thing. – AND no smart remarks about quoting Martha Stewart.

  11. Saw this on tv last night. Glad I came here before ordering. I will check Walgreens and even try it out at the store before buying.

  12. Can’t get any info on my order which was done 7 months ago!!!!! The funds have been deducted from my CC. In fact the lanterns ended up costing me $20.00 including shipping and handling. I now regret not reading these reviews beforehand. Can anyone help??? How can I get refunded?? This is a mess. I have certainly learned from my mistake. Never again will I purchase as seen on TV items. I will look elsewhere first.

  13. The olde brooklyn lantern TV commercial is a scam. You don’t get two for $12.99 because you have pay $9.99 for the second one plus shipping and handling of $6.99, where is the free shipping! As JP Barnum said,” there’s a sucker born every second”.

  14. I was going to buy this Olde Brooklyn Lantern for a Christmas gift. I balked at giving my CC info and I’m glad I found this site. Won’t by ordering this any time soon!

  15. whatever happened to buy one get one free? thanks to this site I will NOT be buying one at all!! American made is the way to go!!! COLEMAN!!!

  16. Thanks for saving me money and troubles. I was about to order some for myself and some for gifts. Looks like a fantastic deal, but looks can be deceiving.

  17. I have been using Coleman gasoline lanterns for over 40 years. I use the double mantle lantern which you fill with unleaded gasoline. During the recent power outage I fired up 2 of my Coleman gasoline lanterns. I then went for a walk up my pitch black street. I noticed that my neighbors houses were either completely dark, or had very dim lights (candles, etc.). I looked back at my own brightly lit home, and it appeared as though I still had electricity. You can’t beat the Coleman gasoline powered lantern.

  18. Glad I read the reviews.

These sound like the same scam that got me for 4 Luma wallets when I was trying to order 1. I finally got them on the phone after hours of trying. They said they changed it to 1, but still got billed for and received 4 but wished I had never order any. BTW, Coleman makes a great LED lantern for $29. Better to spend a little more and buy from a reputable company.

  19. I called questioning the free shipping and spoke with a person live and they gave me a 1-800-777-4034 direct line to speak with someone in person to get around the extra shipping charge that was advertised on TV. Just mention false advertising and they will work with you. Initial charge and then rebate you CC $5.00

  20. Some of the Walmarts carry this in their line of “as seen on TV” section. The reviews also mention that it requires 2 D cell batteries. I wanted one for a Christmas present but after reading everything I think that I will buy a Coleman instead.

  21. This is a scam!!! Whatever you do, don’t order this product (Olde Brooklyn lantern). They charged my twice for one order, then it wasn’t delivered when promised so I cancelled it fearing the worse. After 2 1/2 months I’m still trying to receive credit of $29.97 for the duplicate charge. They hardly speak English, and they better be glad I can’t get my hands on them!!!!! Repeat – do not order this product…. Ugh!!!
